(OLD) GBS 2016 – Day 10 – Part 2

I tried my best to take a photo that captured today’s experience!

I hope this photo gives you a sense of chaos, silliness, and teamwork. In this short post, I would like to highlight the teamwork aspect. In this single scene, there is a patient in his final orthotic fitting. Behind that patient is an awesome family and physical therapists who have brought their child here for better treatment. Behind that orthotic is a team of students from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Washington University in St. Louis, and Penn who put in long days in the manufacturing labs. All of these people came together for the single purpose to help this boy. It is very inspiring to see so many people push past language barriers, physical differences, and cultural differences to lend a helping hand.

Thank you to EVERYONE who helped send a patient home today with orthotics!
